Cleopatra Makeup Tutorial

I did a bit of a different look today. I decided to do a Cleopatra inspired Egyptian makeup look! I had an idea of what I wanted to do at first, but as I started the process, it turned out to be something else, and I'm actually quite pleased with how it came out. If you want to see how I did it, I have a video you can watch down below.
List of what I used:
-Tape

Bite Beauty Best Bite Remix | Holiday 2014 Set

I've been waiting quite a while for a Bite Beauty holiday set to come out! The Bite Beauty Best Bite Remix holiday set just came out a few days ago. It is very reminiscent to last year's holiday set. It retails for $25 and can be found at Sephora. It features four deluxe high pigment pencils, one of which is a repeat from last year (Rhubarb) and debuts two new shades.
I love the packaging because it looks just like an Altoid mints tin. The tin is red and has a matte rubberized feel, similar to Nars packaging. The "B" is also embossed on top.
As I mentioned above, the tin looks just like the Altoid mints tin and it even has the paper! How cute is that?
These pencils definitely have high pigmentation and they apply so smooth. On the lips, they feel creamy and my lips do not get dry.
L-R: Sable, Rhubarb, Winterberry, Pomegranate
Sable is a new shade and is described as a nude, although I see it as a pink nude. Rhubarb is in the permanent collection and is described as a plum rose. (I accidentally made a typo on the picture above and spelled it wrong. Didn't notice till after I posted.) Winterberry is also a new shade and is described as a festive raspberry red. Pomegranate is part of the permanent collection and is described as a rose berry. However, this appears more of a rich holiday red.

Too Faced Melted Kisses | Holiday 2014

Here is set #2 of the various lip holiday sets I will be showing you. Today features the Too Faced Melted Kisses Holiday 2014 set. It includes 4 of Too Faced most popular Melted Liquified Long Wear lipstick shades. The lippies are deluxe size and it retails for $25. This is pretty neat because a full size lippie is $21. I personally don't mind the smaller size because I've never used up an entire lipstick before.
The shades included in this set are Melted Nude, Melted Peony, Melted Fuchsia, and Melted Berry.
The applicator is a velvet tip that allows for precision.
Once the tube is squeezed, the product comes out of the applicator. Unfortunately, the tip does become "dirty" from the color of the lipstick, but I don't mind since it is inevitable.

Since they are very pigmented, the best way to apply it is by only using a small amount and slowly adding a bit more if needed. If you use too much it looks awful on the lips.

Melted Nude
Melted Nude is described as a neutral nude, but I find it more on the peachy brown side on me at least. It is a gorgeous shade, but I think only certain skin tones can pull it off.

Melted Peony
Melted Peony is described as a dusty rose. On me it appears like a brighter pink. However, the longer you wear it, it becomes more subtle and more wearable for everyday. This one was actually the shade I was drawn too when the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear lipsticks came out.

Melted Fuchsia
Melted Fuchsia is described as a hot pink. I would definitely agree with this. I'm not one to wear bright colors regularly, but this is really pretty. It brings me memories of my prom dress since it was a very similar color!

Melted Berry
Melted Berry is described as a berry red. I found this shade absolutely gorgeous and that is one of the reasons why I purchased this set. I feel like it looks a bit cranberry and I just love it.
L-R: Melted Nude, Melted Peony, Melted Fuchsia, Melted Berry
These lipsticks last a while on my lips. But please please please exfoliate your lips before applying these. I noticed that the darker shades left a stain on the lips which is good. They are definitely pigmented on the lips.

If you have always wanted to try these out but don't know which shade to choose, this is a great set to start out with. Then, if you like the formula and color, you can get the full size. These are also great stocking stuffers for those makeup lovers in your life.

Tarte Kiss and Belle LipSurgence Set | Holiday 2014

Welcome to the time of year when the 2014 Makeup Holiday sets become available for us makeup junkies to enjoy! This is the first of many lip holiday sets I will be featuring on this blog and on YouTube. For some reason, I was more drawn to the lip sets this year than anything else. Without further ado, let me introduce the Tarte Kiss and Belle LipSurgence Set for 2014!

Tarte Kiss and Belle retails for $34 and features 4 deluxe LipSurgence lip tints, 2 deluxe LipSurgence matte lip tints, and 2 deluxe LipSurgence lip glosses. As usual, the lip tints and matte lip tints have that peppermint scent, and the lipglosses have a sweet scent.

Eternal
Eternal is a matte lip tint and is described as a pinky nude. Surprisingly, I found this shade to be a bit on the coral side. So if you want, I called it a "coral nude", (does such a thing even exist?!) The matte lip tints are creamy and don't dry out on your lips, so they will feel comfortable throughout the day.

Dreamy
Dreamy is a lip tint and is described as a cool raspberry. I definitely agree with this description as its a gorgeous raspberry with blue undertones that make it cool. This is one of my favorites of the bunch. The lip tints feel very smooth on the lips, almost like a lip balm!

Kiss
Kiss is a lip gloss and is described as a light pink. This is my first time experimenting with a LipSurgence lip gloss. This gloss is beautiful, but let me warn you, it does have glitter in it. Although it makes the lipgloss pretty, when it begins to wear away throughout the day, guess what gets left behind...the glitter. I can't stand that! But regardless, this is a pretty lipgloss to be layered on top of another product.

Alluring
Alluring is a lip tint and is described as a mauve. Usually when I think of "mauve" I think of purple hues, which this certainly does not have. But that is something that makes me love this shade. I like to use this daily, and will be very sad when it runs out! (Unless I can find a dupe for this, which I will be on the hunt for!)

Innocent
Innocent is a lip tint and is described as a warm nude. Thankfully, this nude leans on the pink/peach side which makes it PERFECT for me! I always have difficulty with nudes since they either wash me out, look like concealer, or are too brown. Not with this beauty!

Belle
Belle is a lip gloss and is described as a raspberry. This gloss was the only reason why I shelled out $34 to purchase this set. (Not that the other shades aren't gorgeous because I found lots of gems in this set!) I saw it swatched on someone else and I fell in love. Belle is so pigmented and is a beautiful raspberry color!

Dainty
Dainty is a lip tint and is described as pink. To be quite honest, they should have been a bit more descriptive with this name. Maybe call it a "warm medium pink"? What do you think?

Fancy
"I'm so fancy, you already knoooowww"...what? I'm singing here! Just playing! Fancy is a matte lip tint and is described as a plum berry. On the lips, the plum doesn't really show forth as much as just a hand swatch. Either way, this shade transforms into a gorgeous cranberry plummy berry color!

Top: Eternal, Fancy, Kiss, Belle
Bottom: Dreamy, Alluring, Innocent, Dainty

Overall, this is a great set to test out new colors. Plus, you get to try out the lip tints, matte lip tints, and the lipglosses. This years focus was more on pinks and berries, which I love! I will probably get more wear out of these than last years (see it here).

Mani Monday | Gelish Black Cherry Berry

Today I was in the mood to begin wearing darker fall colors on my nails. I decided to do a home gel manicure with Gelish Black Cherry Berry. Its a gorgeous oxblood red color. In person its darker then in the picture above. Regardless, this polish is perfect for fall! I'm slowly starting to incorporate darker colors for this season. So excited! Anyone else tried Gelish polish?

Milani Gel Powder Eyeshadow | Swatches

I was finally able to go to CVS to check out the new Milani Gel Powder eyeshadows. They retail for $4.59. At CVS there is a larger selection of shades, whereas at Walgreens, there are fewer shades to choose from.

I bought three shades: Bella Ivory, Bella Champagne, and Bella Taupe. I wanted something neutral that would be wearable for everyday.

In terms of the formula, I wouldn't necessarily call it a "gel". When I think of gel, I imagine a gel liner. That is NOT what this feels like. The consistency is more creamy, but still on the powder side. I noticed that the shadows applied better with my fingers then with brushes (see the video down below!).

Bella Ivory
Bella Ivory is cream ivory shade that has a satin matte finish. Although it leans more to the matte side, it has a satiny finish that gives the shadow a nice sheen. This is great to use as a highlight underneath your eyebrows and in the inner corner of your eye.

Bella Champagne
Bella Champagne is a gorgeous rosy champagne color that has a shimmer finish. This is the perfect shade to apply to your eyelids.

Bella Taupe
Bella Taupe is a greyish brown and has a satin matte finish. On the swatch, it appears more brown than it really is, but on the eyes it does show a bit of grey taupey-ness. This shade is perfect for the crease or the outer v section.

Everyday Fall Makeup | 2014

Hello lovely gals! Glad you stopped by today! Recently, I have been loving using my Lorac Unzipped palette since I find it gorgeous for fall. I've kept my makeup pretty subtle for everyday. I like to incorporate a lot of the berries, plums, and mauves.

For my eye makeup, I used the Lorac Unizpped palette and used Unconditional in the crease, Unreal on the inner part of my lid, Unattainable on the middle of the lid, and mixed Unspoken and Untamed for the outer v. I lined my upper lashes with the Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Demolition and I also used a bit on my lower lashes. Finally, I used one coat of Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara and one coat of Maybelline Illegal Lengths mascara.

For my lips I applied Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey and topped it with Buxom Full On Lip Polish in Sophia. My lips end up looking like a mauve pink, which I think is pretty for everyday.
I am loving the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation. I use the shade 150 Buff, which is a perfect match for me. The foundation has a nice medium-full coverage and I find it great to use during fall/winter.
And let's not forget cheeks! I am currently loving my Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hr blush in Exposed. It is the perfect nude blush that goes with everything!
